Ahhh September
Probably our 7th favourite month, but it’s definitely the worst of the ‘ember’ months.
Hutch and Nige have recently returned from a bonding trip in South East Asia. During their time here they crashed a party in Ho Chi Minh thrown by the New Zealand Consulate, they crashed an after party in Nha Trang held for the Miss Universe contestants and Nigel touched a ladyboy breast in Bangkok.
Here is a photo of Hutch with Miss Brazil. He was useless. All he managed to say was “which country are you from” in a voice reminiscent of a pre-pubescent teenager. Afterwards he talked it up and said he was going to ask her if she wanted to take walk along the beach…he never did though.
While Hutch and Nige were away Jarrod held down the fort and bonded with Glyni. Then Glyni left on an ill-fated cruise which ended up tipping and injuring 50 people. In search of human contact Jarrod went to the cast and crew screening of The Jaquie Brown Diaries, where he texted from his mobile and harboured a deep seeded feeling of bitterness towards Taika Waititi for being more cool, talented and popular than him.
During August thedownlowconcept welcomed two new members to the fold. Mike and Tom who are both very talented young men, but not too talented because we’re insecure. Actually we’re a little worried at the moment because it seems both of them are cooler than us which is actually a little embarrassing because we’re meant to be the awesome industry insiders, but now we’re clearly frauds. Having said that, they still have a long way to go before they supersede Glyni from her position as ‘Employee of the Month”.
We also started a new radio programme on Radio Live which we are co-producing called “The Asian Radio Show”. See if you can guess what it about. If you want to hear it you can listen to Radio Live at about 7:40pm. (On after on of our other radio programmes ‘Pop! Goes the Weasel’).
Finally, Jarrod is turning 30 in one month. Ha ha.
